St Patrick’s School Homework Policy

PURPOSE:

1. To provide a link between the work done at school and home.

2. To reinforce knowledge and practice skills previously taught in the classroom.

3. Establish individual study and efficient time management.

4. To encourage the child to become involved in their own learning.

GUIDELINES:

1. Homework should be set regularly.

2. Caregivers will be notified at the beginning of the year of teachers requirements concerning type and regularity of homework.

3. Homework should be signed by a caregiver on completion.

4. Homework must be recognized by the teacher.

5. Homework will be given in the areas of numeracy, literacy and Religious Education.
