Canneloni Recipe
Ingredients
2 packets of Canneloni tubes
500 grams mince meat
2 rashers steaky bacon finely diced
8 large button mushrooms
1 large onion
Salt and pepper to taste
250 gram s of grated cheese
Sauce
3 tins of plum tomatos diced
2 large onions
8 large Button mushrooms
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
2 Teaspoons of Italian herbs
Salt and pepper to taste
300 mls water
Method
In a bowl place the mince ,bacon, onion,mushrooms and the salt and pepper and
then mix well with you clean hands. Take a large roasting dish place the Canneloni
tubes into it to make sure they all fit. Take a tube and gently full the tube
with the mince mix(it is easiest by hand). When all the tubes are full Cover
and leave.
In a frypan place the oil fry the onions until brown then add the mushroomand
fry again for a couple of minutes then add the tomatos ,water and the spices
and cook for 20 minutes
Pour ovet the tube making sure it is covered with the sauce sand cover with foil and cook in an oven heated to 200 celcus for about 40 minutes. cCheck by taking out and using a knife to check that the tubes are cooked. If they are remove the cover sprinkle over the cheese and return to the oven and brown . Serve hot with a green salad and enjoy. This is great made the day before.
